LN : The Jammu Division of Northern Railway has extended the operation of its special reserved train services between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) Katra in response to sustained passenger demand.
Train No. 04081, running from New Delhi to Katra, will operate for four additional trips from January 23 to January 26. The return service, Train No. 04082 from Katra to New Delhi, will run from January 24 to January 27.
This latest extension comes after multiple earlier extensions, highlighting the strong demand for the service, particularly among pilgrims and long-distance travelers. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said that earlier runs of the train recorded nearly 100 percent occupancy, making it a cost-effective and convenient travel option.
Apart from serving passengers traveling to and from Jammu and Kashmir, the train also benefits travelers boarding or alighting at intermediate stations such as Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, and Ambala Cantt.
Passengers are advised to check the latest schedule through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or by dialing 139 before commencing their journey.
The special reserved train continues to be a popular choice for devotees visiting the Vaishno Devi shrine, especially during the peak pilgrimage season, offering reliable and economical rail connectivity.
