Ashok Kumar Appointed Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi

The Election Commission of India has appointed Ashok Kumar as the new Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi. He will take over the post with immediate effect, replacing R Alice Vaz.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary of Delhi, the Commission directed that Ashok Kumar assume charge of the office of the CEO, National Capital Territory of Delhi, without delay.

Earlier in January, the poll panel had asked the Delhi government to submit a panel of three Indian Administrative Service officers for consideration. Ashok Kumar was among the three names forwarded to the Commission by the Rekha Gupta government.
