Chhattisgarh is set to maintain strong economic momentum in the financial year 2025–26, with its Gross State Domestic Product at current prices projected to rise from Rs 5.65 lakh crore in 2024–25 to around Rs 6.31 lakh crore, according to the Economic Survey presented in the state Assembly on Monday.

The survey estimates a growth rate of 11.57 per cent, positioning the state to outperform the national average.

Responding to the findings, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the government remains focused on inclusive and balanced development. He stated that agriculture, industry and services are being strengthened simultaneously to build Chhattisgarh into one of the country’s leading state economies.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that continued infrastructure expansion, an investment-friendly climate and sustained emphasis on human resource development will further accelerate growth in the coming years.

At constant prices with 2011–12 as the base year, the state’s GSDP is estimated at Rs 3.31 lakh crore in 2024–25 and is projected to increase to Rs 3.58 lakh crore in 2025–26, reflecting a real growth rate of 8.11 per cent. This indicates steady expansion in actual output and production capacity.

Sector-wise projections show broad-based growth. At current prices, agriculture and allied sectors are expected to grow by 12.53 per cent, industry by 10.26 per cent, and services by 13.15 per cent. In real terms for 2025–26, agriculture is projected to grow by 7.49 per cent, industry by 7.21 per cent and services by 9.11 per cent.

In terms of composition at current prices, agriculture is expected to contribute 20.64 per cent to the state economy, industry 46.59 per cent and services 32.77 per cent. The strong industrial share reflects Chhattisgarh’s established manufacturing and mining base, while services continue to expand steadily.

The survey also highlights improvement in income levels. Per capita income at current prices is projected to rise from Rs 1,62,848 to Rs 1,79,244 in 2025–26, marking a growth of 10.07 per cent. The increase is expected to support higher consumption and strengthen overall economic activity in the state.
