Guru Ghasidas Central University Students on Indefinite Hunger Strike Over Admission Cancellation

Bilaspur: Two students of Guru Ghasidas Central University, Sarthak and Sudip, have continued their indefinite hunger strike demanding the removal of their campus entry ban and the revocation of their admission cancellation. The students are staging a peaceful protest outside the university’s main gate and are seeking direct dialogue with the administration.

According to the protesting students, their academic future remains uncertain. They allege that for the past four months they have received repeated assurances from the administration, but no concrete decision has been taken. Each time they were promised action, the matter was deferred by extending the observation period. They claim that this prolonged uncertainty has caused significant mental and academic stress.

Sarthak and Sudip state that they have submitted multiple written representations and requested meetings with university authorities, but no clear order has been issued so far. They maintain that their protest is entirely peaceful and that they are raising their concerns while respecting the dignity of the institution.

Meanwhile, the university administration is reportedly engaged in preparations for an upcoming international conference. The students allege that the management is prioritizing the event while their case, pending for four months, remains unresolved. They argue that their academic future deserves equal importance alongside institutional events.

No official response has been issued by the university administration at the time of reporting. Student organizations and other campus members are now closely watching the next move of the Prof. Alok Kumar Chakrawal, Vice-Chancellor and the management. The key question remains whether the administration will take a timely decision regarding the students’ future or allow the matter to remain pending.
