March 05, 2026 : Chief Justice of India Surya Kant today met the King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, in Thimphu and offered India’s support for providing technical assistance and advancing the digitalisation of judicial processes in the Himalayan nation.

According to the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Surya Kant was granted an audience with the Bhutanese monarch, during which both leaders discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between India and Bhutan.

They also exchanged views on the growing threat of cybercrime and explored possibilities for joint efforts to prevent and effectively prosecute such offences.
