  • Postal Employees Resolve to Strengthen Union and Protect Staff Rights at Biennial Convention

    National Postal Employees Union

March 10, 2026 : The biennial convention of the National Postal Employees Union was held at a private hotel, where members reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the organisation, protecting the rights of employees, and ensuring that the schemes of the postal department reach the wider public. A large number of postal employees and union office-bearers attended the event.

During the convention, union representatives informed participants that the previous biennial convention was held on December 17, 2023, in Bilaspur, while the national-level convention took place in Ujjain from June 9 to 10, 2024. These meetings included detailed discussions on issues concerning employees, union activities, and future plans.

Employees present at the event said that postal workers continue to perform their duties with dedication and responsibility despite limited resources and several challenges. They noted that technical issues, increasing workload, staff shortages, and changing work patterns have created difficulties, yet employees remain committed to achieving the targets set by the administration. Speakers also highlighted that the postal department still plays an important role in delivering services to remote areas across the country.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the programme was specially dedicated to women employees. Female staff celebrated the day by cutting a cake, and women employees who made outstanding contributions were honoured. The speakers appreciated the dedication of women employees and acknowledged their active participation in the organisation.

    B. S. Rao, Sushma Verma, and N. D. Lal, along with other office-bearers and employees, shared their views during the programme. Speakers said that the union’s role is not limited to organisational management but also includes safeguarding the rights, dignity, and interests of every employee. They added that the union continuously works to bring employees’ concerns to the administration and strives for their resolution, while also promoting postal department schemes and services among the public.
