Chhattisgarh Cabinet Approves Urban Gas Distribution Policy to Supply Piped Cooking Gas

April 29, 2026 : In a significant push towards clean energy, the Chhattisgarh government has decided to supply cooking gas to households in urban areas through pipelines. The decision was taken during a meeting of the State Council of Ministers held in Nava Raipur under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.

Addressing the media after the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao said the Cabinet has approved the “Chhattisgarh Urban Gas Distribution Policy.” The policy aims to ensure the widespread availability of clean and affordable natural gas across the state.

The initiative is expected to provide a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to LPG for urban households.
