TRAI Extends Deadline for Comments on Draft Telecom Consumer Complaint Redressal Amendment Regulations

June 4, 2026 : The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has extended the deadline for stakeholders to submit comments on the Draft Telecom Consumer Complaint Redressal (Fourth Amendment) Regulations, 2026. The draft regulations were released on May 7, 2026, and uploaded on the official website of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India for public consultation.

Initially, the last date for submission of comments was set for June 5, 2026. However, following requests from various stakeholders and industry associations seeking additional time, TRAI has decided to extend the deadline for submitting written comments until June 12, 2026.

In a further step to encourage broader stakeholder participation, the regulator has also allowed the submission of counter-comments on the feedback received. Interested parties may submit their counter-comments by June 19, 2026.

TRAI has requested that all comments and counter-comments be sent electronically to adv.ca@trai.gov.in. For any clarification or additional information regarding the consultation process, stakeholders may contact Vivek Khare, Advisor (Consumer Affairs), through the same email address or by phone at +91-11-20907772.

The extension is expected to provide stakeholders with additional time to review the proposed amendments and contribute to the regulatory framework governing consumer complaint redressal in the telecom sector.
