Supreme Court Extends Deadline for Applications to Special Lok Adalat Till July 31

July 8, 2026 : The Supreme Court of India has extended the deadline for submitting applications for the Special Lok Adalat, scheduled to be held from August 21 to 23, 2026, at the Supreme Court premises in New Delhi.

According to a communication issued by the Research and Planning Centre of the Supreme Court, the last date for submitting cases through the designated Google Form has been extended from May 31, 2026, to July 31, 2026.

The extension provides an additional opportunity for litigants whose matters were pending before the Supreme Court as of May 31, 2026, and who were unable to submit their applications within the earlier deadline.

Authorities have urged eligible parties to take advantage of the extended timeline and apply for the settlement of their disputes through the Special Lok Adalat. The initiative aims to facilitate the amicable resolution of pending cases, reduce litigation, and promote speedy justice through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

The Special Lok Adalat is part of the Supreme Court’s ongoing efforts to encourage consensual settlements and enhance access to efficient dispute resolution for litigants across the country.
