International Yoga Day Celebrated at District Court Complex, Promoting Healthy and Balanced Living

June 22, 2026 : A special yoga session and awareness programme was organized at the District Court Complex on the occasion of International Yoga Day. Judges, advocates, and judicial employees actively participated in the event and pledged to make yoga an integral part of a healthy, balanced, and disciplined lifestyle.

Speaking on the occasion, officials said that this year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” encourages people of all age groups to adopt a healthy, active, and balanced way of life. They emphasized that yoga serves as a bridge between the mind, body, and soul, helping individuals achieve physical well-being, mental peace, self-confidence, and positive energy. Regular yoga practice, they noted, plays a significant role in reducing stress and improving overall quality of life.

During the session, yoga instructor and advocate Naresh Kumar Tiwari guided participants through various yoga postures, pranayama techniques, and meditation practices. He also explained the long-term health benefits of yoga and encouraged participants to incorporate it into their daily routines.

On the same occasion, a special yoga programme was conducted at the District Jail, Bemetara, where inmates were informed about the importance and benefits of yoga. They were told that yoga not only improves physical health but also contributes to mental balance, self-discipline, and the development of a positive outlook toward life.

As part of the celebrations, the Taluka Legal Services Committee, Saja, also observed International Yoga Day in the presence of its officers and staff. Meanwhile, legal aid volunteers associated with the District Legal Services Authority organized awareness programmes at various locations to educate the public about the importance of yoga and encourage regular practice.

Through these initiatives, the organizers sought to promote healthy living, mental well-being, and greater social awareness, reinforcing the message that yoga is a powerful tool for achieving a healthier and more balanced life.
