March 31, 2026 : Amit Jogi, State President of Janta Congress Chhattisgarh, has received interim relief from a trial court in the high-profile murder case of Ram Avtar Jaggi. The court approved his bail application, granting him release on two bonds of ₹50,000 each along with sureties.
The order was passed by the court of Judge Pankaj Kumar Sinha after the defense complied with the required conditions. However, Jogi’s legal challenges are far from over, as the matter is scheduled for final hearing before the Chhattisgarh High Court on Wednesday.
The upcoming hearing is expected to determine whether the interim relief granted to Jogi will continue. Legal experts believe the High Court’s ruling will be decisive in the case and could significantly impact Jogi’s political trajectory.
The situation carries added weight given the current state of his party. Founded under the leadership of late former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, the party had emerged as a strong third political force in the state. However, it has since weakened due to the exit of several senior leaders. In this context, an adverse ruling from the High Court could further jeopardize Amit Jogi’s political future.
