Angul Family Court Invites Applications for Counsellor Post; Last Date April 20

March 19, 2026 : The Office of the District & Sessions Judge, Angul has invited applications for the post of Counsellor in the Family Court at Angul. The recruitment will be carried out under the provisions of the Family Courts (Orissa) Rules, 1990, with the final appointment to be made by the High Court of Orissa.

As per the official notification dated March 21, 2026, there is one vacancy for the post. Eligible candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Social Science, preferably in Sociology or Psychology. However, in the absence of such candidates, individuals above 35 years of age engaged in social service and family welfare activities with relevant qualifications may also be considered.

Applicants are required to have at least three years of experience in family counselling and must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking Odia. Additional eligibility conditions include Indian citizenship, good health, and compliance with personal law requirements regarding marital status.

The role of the Counsellor will involve assisting parties in matrimonial and family disputes, facilitating reconciliation, and advising on settlement of issues brought before the Family Court.

In terms of remuneration, the selected candidate will receive a monthly fee of ₹6,000, along with an additional ₹1,000 per day for actual work performed, as per the applicable government resolution.

Interested candidates must submit duly filled applications along with self-attested documents to the Office of the Registrar, Civil Courts, Angul. The last date for submission is April 20, 2026, by 1:00 PM. Applications received after the deadline or found incomplete will be rejected.
