Raipur, January 12, 2026 : Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said that the inauguration of the regional office of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) in Raipur is a landmark step toward connecting Chhattisgarh’s agricultural economy with global markets. He said the initiative will directly link farmers, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), and exporters of the state with international buyers, giving a strong boost to the farm sector.
The Chief Minister noted that the initiative, launched from the platform of the India International Rice Summit, will firmly place Chhattisgarh on the map of high-value agricultural exports. GI-tagged indigenous rice varieties such as Jeeraphool and Nagri Dubraj, along with other agricultural and processed food products from the state, are expected to gain wider global recognition. This, he said, will ensure better prices for farmers’ produce while encouraging the growth of agro-based enterprises.
He added that the double-engine government is continuously working to increase farmers’ income, strengthen the rural economy, and create new opportunities at the grassroots level. The APEDA regional office in Raipur will provide a strong institutional framework by simplifying export procedures, improving quality standards, and enabling direct engagement with international buyers.
Expressing confidence in the initiative, the Chief Minister said it would help Chhattisgarh emerge as one of the leading states in high-value, sustainable, and competitive agricultural exports, while providing a stable foundation for long-term prosperity of the state’s farming community.
