Bilaspur: Panic spread inside the Chhattisgarh High Court in Bilaspur after a bomb threat was received through an email on Monday, prompting authorities to immediately evacuate the entire court premises as a precautionary measure.
According to initial information, the threatening message claimed that several bombs filled with cyanide gas had been planted inside the judges’ chamber area of the court complex. The message warned that the bombs would explode and urged authorities to immediately evacuate everyone from the premises.
Soon after the email surfaced, a state of alert was declared inside the High Court. Courtrooms were quickly cleared and lawyers, staff members and visitors were asked to move out of the premises. Judges and magistrates were also escorted to safe locations as security agencies began an emergency response.
Senior police officials rushed to the spot and launched a detailed security check across the court complex. Bomb disposal squads and dog squads were deployed to thoroughly scan the premises and nearby areas to rule out any explosive threat. Security teams have been conducting systematic searches of buildings, corridors and surrounding locations.
Officials said the threat was received via email on the court’s official account. Preliminary information suggests that the message may have been sent from an email ID allegedly linked to a person named Subhash Biswas. Authorities are now working to trace the origin of the email and identify the sender.
Police officials stated that the situation is currently under control, but the search operation is continuing as a precaution. Security around the High Court premises has also been tightened while investigators examine the threatening email and its contents.
Further details are expected after the completion of the security checks and the cyber investigation into the source of the email.
