The Central Bureau of Investigation and the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre wrapped up a two-day National Conference in New Delhi focused on tackling cyber-enabled fraud and breaking the ecosystem that sustains such crimes.
According to a statement issued by the CBI, the conference brought together key stakeholders to deliberate on regulatory reforms, the growing use of artificial intelligence in investigations, and the importance of stronger global cooperation to counter cybercrime.
A significant part of the discussions centered on the emerging threat of cyber slavery, including the recruitment of victims for overseas scam operations. Participants underlined the urgent need for preventive mechanisms, better international coordination, and structured rehabilitation frameworks for affected individuals.
The role of social media platforms, messaging services, and other digital intermediaries in enabling fraud was also examined. There was a clear emphasis on faster data sharing and improved collaboration between agencies and technology platforms.
The conference concluded with the exchange of best practices from successful cybercrime investigations and live demonstrations of AI-driven tools designed to strengthen investigative capacity and enhance inter-agency coordination.
