Law Notify : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday virtually inaugurated eight new cyber police stations and a range of police residential and office buildings worth ₹255 crore from the Police Headquarters in Naya Raipur. Extending greetings to the people of the state and police personnel, the Chief Minister termed the initiative a significant step towards strengthening policing and public safety.
Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said the day marked an important milestone for the police department, as infrastructure projects worth ₹255 crore were dedicated to the state. He noted that presentations showcased well-designed and modern cyber police stations, SDOP offices, police outposts, transit hostels, and residential buildings, all built with a focus on convenience and functionality. Appreciating the agencies involved for maintaining construction quality, he said improved workspaces and housing would motivate police personnel to perform their duties more effectively. He added that the government remains committed to providing better facilities to officers and staff, which would further reinforce law and order, including in remote areas of the state.
Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma said the state government is expanding cyber police infrastructure to tackle the growing challenge of cybercrime. Eight new cyber police stations have been inaugurated in districts including Jashpur, Raigarh, and Rajnandgaon. Currently, five districts already have operational cyber police stations, and more will be set up in the future based on need. He also informed that new police station buildings in nine districts, India Reserve Battalion campuses in four districts, and a Central Armed Force outpost and residential facilities in Mana were inaugurated as part of the initiative. Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister for approving and inaugurating the projects, he congratulated all stakeholders.
Several senior officials attended the programme, including the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, senior officials from the Home Department, the Director General of Police, and top police housing and administrative officers. Ministers, legislators, and other public representatives joined the event virtually.
Among the key facilities inaugurated were police station buildings, transit hostels, Central Arms Store facilities, SDOP office buildings, and residential quarters across districts such as Balod, Mahasamund, Dhamtari, Raipur, Bastar, Bijapur, Sukma, Kanker, Narayanpur, Durg, Bemetara, Rajnandgaon, Surajpur, Korea, and Balrampur. The projects include India Reserve Battalion campuses, police outposts, cyber infrastructure units, and housing for officers and personnel, aimed at improving operational readiness and welfare across the state.
