Unveils Silver Jubilee Medal for State Police Force

Law Notify : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today unveiled the Silver Jubilee Medal dedicated to the Chhattisgarh Police Force at the Police Headquarters in Naya Raipur. Congratulating the police personnel, the Chief Minister said the medal would stand as a lasting symbol of the force’s courage, valour, and sacrifice in maintaining peace and security in the state.

It may be recalled that the Chief Minister had announced the institution of the Silver Jubilee Medal for the state police force on the occasion of Republic Day, January 26. Acting swiftly on the announcement, the medal was formally unveiled today.

The Chief Minister said that over the past 25 years, the Chhattisgarh Police Force has played a crucial role in strengthening law and order and has shown exceptional bravery in anti-Naxal operations. Many personnel have made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. The Silver Jubilee Medal, he said, would keep their dedication and service alive in public memory.

He further noted that the medal reflects the soil, culture, and traditions of Chhattisgarh. The medal is circular in shape and silver in colour. The front features the Sal tree, while the reverse bears an embossed image of the Hill Myna. It will be worn with a ribbon on the left side of the uniform, above the pocket. In the order of precedence, it will be worn after the Ashoka Chakra, Kirti Chakra, gallantry medals, the President’s Distinguished Service Medal, and the President’s Meritorious Service Medal.

Explaining the symbolism, the Chief Minister said the Hill Myna represents alertness, communication, fearlessness, connection with local culture, and the team spirit of the police force. The Sal tree symbolises strength, resilience, longevity, protection, and a powerful contribution made with quiet determination. Revered in the Bastar and Surguja regions, the Sal tree embodies the values of dedication, service, and commitment to society that define the Chhattisgarh Police Force.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel, senior officials of the Home Department, and top police officers were present at the ceremony.
