CJI Surya Kant Lays Foundation for Telangana High Court Zone-II Complex at Rajendranagar

April 7, 2026 : Justice Surya Kant on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for the High Court Zone-II complex at Rajendranagar in Telangana, marking the commencement of a major judicial infrastructure project.

A Revanth Reddy attended the ceremony along with several Supreme Court judges, including Justice P S Narasimha, Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, Justice S V Bhatti, and Justice Alok Aradhe. The event formally marked the start of construction for the new complex.

Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh was also present, accompanied by Justice P Sam Koshy and other members of the judiciary. Former Chief Justice of India Justice N V Ramana and former Supreme Court judge Justice Subhash Reddy attended the programme as well.

A bhoomi puja was conducted as part of the ceremony. The High Court Zone-II complex is a key component of the proposed 100-acre Judicial City planned for the region. Officials also presented architectural models and detailed the design and functional aspects of the upcoming complex.

Senior officials, including Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao and DGP B Shivadhar Reddy, were present at the event.

Authorities stated that the project is expected to significantly strengthen judicial infrastructure in Telangana, improve access to legal services, and support the future expansion of the judiciary.
