April 7, 2026 : The Delhi Police is questioning three individuals in connection with a security breach at the Delhi Legislative Assembly that occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (North), a case has been registered at Civil Lines Police Station under multiple provisions of law, including attempt to murder, criminal trespass with preparation to commit an offence, use of criminal force against a public servant, and Section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. Additional charges relating to obstruction of public servants in the discharge of their duties have also been invoked.
Police said that a white Tata Sierra forcibly entered the Assembly premises, prompting an immediate response. A city-wide alert was issued, and the vehicle was later intercepted in the Roop Nagar area.
The main accused, identified as 37-year-old Sarabjit Singh, a resident of Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh, was apprehended along with two others. All three are currently being questioned, and further investigation is in progress.
