Delhi : The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police has dismantled an organised interstate and international drug trafficking network, arresting five individuals and seizing a massive consignment of psychotropic tablets meant for illegal export.

According to officials, more than 18 lakh psychotropic tablets weighing a total of 528 kilograms were recovered during the operation. The seized consignment is estimated to be worth between ₹8 crore and ₹9 crore in the illicit market.

Speaking to the media, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Vikram Singh said the drugs were being routed to the United Kingdom through Mundra port. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the Crime Branch carried out a coordinated operation that led to the interception and recovery of the consignment before it could be shipped abroad.

Police described the network as well-organised, operating across state lines and with international links. Further investigation is underway to identify other members of the syndicate and trace the source and distribution channels of the seized psychotropic substances.

The operation marks a significant breakthrough in the fight against large-scale narcotics trafficking with international connections.
