ED Attaches ₹1.06 Crore Worth Properties of Indore Municipal Corporation Officer in Disproportionate Assets Case

Indore: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Indore Sub-Zonal Office, has provisionally attached immovable properties worth ₹1.06 crore belonging to Rajesh Parmar, Assistant Revenue Officer with the Indore Municipal Corporation, and his family members under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

According to an official press release dated 10 February 2026, the attached properties include a residential house, plots, a flat, and agricultural land, held in the name of Rajesh Parmar and his family members. The attachment has been made in connection with a case related to the alleged acquisition of disproportionate assets.

The ED initiated its investigation based on an FIR registered by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Bhopal, under Sections 7 and 13(1)(b) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The FIR alleged that Parmar had amassed assets far exceeding his known sources of income during his tenure as a public servant.

As per the investigation, assets worth approximately ₹1.66 crore were allegedly acquired between 2007 and 2022, which reportedly exceeded 175% of his known income during the said period. The ED has quantified the suspected proceeds of crime (POC) at ₹1.21 crore.

The probe further revealed that proceeds generated through illegal activities were allegedly used to acquire immovable properties. Large cash deposits were reportedly made into the bank accounts of Parmar and his family members to disguise the illicit origin of funds, which were later routed through banking channels for property purchases.

During the investigation under PMLA, Rajesh Parmar reportedly failed to provide satisfactory explanations or documentary evidence regarding the legitimate source of funds used for acquiring the properties in his name and in the names of his family members. Further investigation in the matter is ongoing.
