Election Commission Directs West Bengal to Clear Pending Honorarium for Voter List Revision Staff

The Election Commission has written to the Chief Secretary of West Bengal, directing the state administration to promptly settle the honorarium payable to officials and staff involved in the Special Intensive Revision of the electoral rolls.

In its communication, the Commission reiterated that payments must be made without delay and strictly in line with earlier guidelines issued for Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, Booth Level Officers, and Supervisors.

The Commission noted that the matter had been taken up with the state earlier as well. However, no update has been received so far on whether the pending payments have been cleared.

In view of the continued delay, the Commission has now issued fresh instructions, underlining that the outstanding honorarium for all concerned officials and staff must be released immediately and without any further lapse.
