Encounter Erupts Between Security Forces and Maoists in Saranda Forest, Jharkhand

Law Notify : An exchange of fire took place this morning between security forces and CPI (Maoist) cadres inside the dense Saranda forest in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district. The incident occurred in the Chotanagra police station limits during a search operation carried out by a joint team of CoBRA, Jharkhand Jaguar, and the district police.

Preliminary inputs indicate that some Maoist cadres may have been injured or killed in the encounter. After the firing, the insurgents reportedly fled deeper into the forest and surrounding hilly areas. Security forces have since intensified search and combing operations to track the fleeing group.
