April 1, 2026 : A farewell ceremony was आयोजित at the Bar Association Saja hall following the transfer of Judicial Magistrate Vivek Kerkatta from the Saja Court. On the occasion, Magistrate Kerkatta expressed emotional gratitude and said that the time he spent with the advocates in Saja would always remain memorable.
He stated that, as part of the judicial system, a judge is required to hear arguments presented by both parties, consider submissions made by advocates, and deliver decisions based strictly on evidence and legal provisions, without any bias. He acknowledged that while one party may feel dissatisfied with a judgment, the right to appeal before higher courts always remains available.
Highlighting the importance of coordination between the Bar and the Bench, he described it as a crucial element of an effective judicial system. He also praised the advocates of Saja for being patient, composed, and well-versed in legal nuances, noting their adherence to procedural law.
Magistrate Kerkatta added that transfer is a routine administrative process, but the warmth and affection shown during farewell moments are what truly remain as an officer’s lasting wealth. He said the memories of Saja would stay with him for a long time.
Bar Association President Moolchand Sharma, in his address, described Kerkatta’s tenure as commendable, noting that there were no complaints from advocates or litigants during his posting. Senior advocates, including Purushottam Choubey, Sagar Das Manikpuri, Vinod Sharma, and Harisharan Kshatriya, also praised his work and conduct.
During the ceremony, members of the Bar Association honored him with a shawl and a memento. Several office bearers and advocates, including Vice President Dinesh Sahu, Gokul Rajput, Secretary Ajay Goswami, Joint Secretary Manoj Verma, Librarian Kavita Gosai, and others, were present.
