Emphasising the need to integrate moral values and etiquette with modern education, Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission Chairman Rupanarayan Sinha said that adopting the core spirit of the Gurukul tradition is essential for the all-round development of children. He was addressing the annual function and felicitation ceremony of PM SHRI Primary and Middle School, Akhara (Patan), in Durg district.
Sinha stated that the PM SHRI school initiative was conceptualised under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the objective of providing students access to modern infrastructure, quality learning and holistic education. He noted that along with academics, equal importance is being given to music, sports and yoga to ensure balanced growth among students.
The programme was presided over by Jitendra Verma. Members of the School Management Committee welcomed the guests with bouquets, shawls, coconuts and mementos.
On the occasion, students presented Saraswati Vandana, yoga demonstrations and a range of cultural performances. Medals, trophies and certificates were awarded to students who excelled in academics, sports and cultural activities. The event was attended by public representatives, members of the School Management Committee, teachers and parents.
