March 25, 2026 : The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has released a recruitment notification for engagement of Young Professionals (YP-I and YP-II) on a contractual basis across its institutes. The notification invites eligible candidates to apply for positions in administrative, finance, and research support roles.

As per the official notification, these positions are purely temporary and aimed at strengthening institutional capacity with skilled professionals. The recruitment offers an opportunity for candidates seeking experience in government research organizations.

The salary structure varies depending on the level of the post. Candidates selected for Young Professional-I positions can expect remuneration of around ₹30,000 per month, while Young Professional-II posts offer up to ₹42,000 per month.

In terms of eligibility, candidates must possess relevant educational qualifications such as a graduate degree for YP-I posts, while YP-II positions generally require higher qualifications like M.Com, MBA (Finance), CA/ICWA/CS (Inter), or equivalent depending on the role.

The age limit typically ranges between 21 to 35 years for Young Professional-I and up to 40 years for Young Professional-II posts, with relaxation applicable as per government norms.

Selection of candidates will be based on interview or walk-in interview, as specified in the notification. These engagements are contractual in nature and do not confer any right to permanent employment under ICMR.

Interested candidates are advised to carefully review the official notification for detailed eligibility criteria, application procedure, and deadlines. Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format within the stipulated time.

This recruitment drive presents a valuable opportunity for young professionals to work with India’s premier biomedical research organization and gain hands-on experience in public health and research administration.
