IIMT College of Law to Host National Conference on New Labour Codes and Viksit Bharat Vision on April 18

The IIMT College of Law, Greater Noida, is set to organize a National Level Conference on April 18, 2026, focusing on the theme “Transforming Labour Governance in India: New Labour Codes as a Pathway to Viksit Bharat @2047.” The conference will be conducted in hybrid mode, enabling both physical and virtual participation.

The event is being organized in academic collaboration with the V.V. Giri National Labour Institute (VVGNLI), Noida, a premier institution under the Ministry of Labour and Employment known for its research, training, and policy-oriented work in labour and industrial relations.

The conference aims to deliberate on India’s evolving labour law framework following the consolidation of multiple labour legislations into four comprehensive Labour Codes. These reforms are expected to streamline regulatory mechanisms, strengthen social security, and balance workers’ welfare with economic growth, aligning with the broader national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

Bringing together academicians, policymakers, legal professionals, researchers, industry experts, and students, the conference seeks to create a platform for meaningful academic dialogue and policy discussions on labour governance and the future of work in India. Key sub-themes include wage regulation, industrial relations, occupational safety, social security for gig workers, labour reforms and ease of doing business, and the impact of technology on labour markets.

The conference also includes a call for papers, inviting original and unpublished research contributions on the theme and related sub-themes. Selected papers will be considered for publication in reputed journals and edited volumes, subject to review and plagiarism checks. Notably, the top ten research papers will be published in an ISSN-indexed law journal without any additional fee.

Important deadlines include April 10, 2026, for abstract submission, April 12 for acceptance notification, and April 15 for full paper submission. The conference will take place on April 18, 2026, at the IIMT College of Law campus in Greater Noida.

With nominal registration fees and participation from diverse stakeholders, the conference is expected to contribute significantly to academic discourse and policy development in the field of labour law and governance in India.
