February 02, 2026 : The team from ILS Law College, Pune won the 12th National Law Institute University (NLIU) – VKC Law Offices National Corporate Law Moot, 2026. The competition was held at National Law Institute University, Bhopal, from January 30 to February 1, 2026.
The winning team included Aarushi Mishra, Megha Shree, and Kaveri Nanduri. They secured the top position after competing against law students from across the country.
The runners-up team came from the Faculty of Law, GLS University, Ahmedabad. The team members were Tanushree Drolia, Dhruv Karena, and Esha Lathar.
The final round was judged by a distinguished panel comprising Justice Chillakur Sumalatha of the Karnataka High Court, Justice Mini Pushkarna of the Delhi High Court, Senior Professor Dr Ghayur Alam from NLIU, Professor Dr Sanjay Yadav, Dean of Post-Graduate Studies at NLIU, and Varun Kumar Chopra, Managing Partner of VKC Law Offices.
The Best Memorial award was won by the team from Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University. The team consisted of H Kamaleshnath, Suruthi Sundari N, and Bhuvanesh J. Pia Agarwal from Jindal Global Law School was named Best Oralist of the competition.
The moot problem covered several important corporate law issues. These included the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, conflicts between the IBC moratorium and asset attachment under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, cross-border insolvency under the UNCITRAL Model Law, data protection concerns under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, treatment of provident fund dues, and the classification and valuation of Virtual Digital Assets as assets of a corporate debtor.
