The Indian Navy has taken over command of Combined Task Force 154, a multinational training unit operating under the Combined Maritime Forces. Commodore Milind M. Mokashi, Shaurya Chakra, formally assumed charge as Commander of CTF 154 from his Italian counterpart.
The change of command ceremony was held at the Combined Maritime Forces Headquarters in Manama, Bahrain. It was attended by Deputy Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti and the Commander of the US Naval Forces Central Command, Vice Admiral Curt A. Renshaw.
CTF 154 focuses on training and capacity building among member nations of the Combined Maritime Forces, a 47-nation maritime partnership. The Indian Navy’s appointment to lead the task force reflects the confidence placed in India’s operational expertise and its growing role as a preferred security partner in the region.
