Law Notify, January 15, 2026 : The 78th Army Day Parade is being held in Jaipur this morning, marking a significant moment in the history of the Indian Army. The grand event is taking place on Mahal Road in the Jagatpura area, with proceedings scheduled to begin around 10 am. Thousands of spectators have gathered to witness the display of military discipline, operational strength, and modern combat capabilities.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, and Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi are attending the parade. Authorities have completed all final preparations, and elaborate security measures are in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme.
This year’s Army Day celebration carries special importance as, for the first time, the parade is being organised outside a traditional cantonment area. By hosting the event in a public urban setting, the Army has brought its legacy, traditions, and operational excellence closer to citizens.
According to Akashvani Correspondent reports, the parade offers people a rare chance to experience the Army’s time-honoured customs alongside its steadily advancing technological capabilities. The event highlights how technology-driven systems are playing an increasingly vital role in modern battlefield operations.
The parade features a mix of advanced military equipment, innovative combat technologies, and the hallmark courage and discipline of Indian soldiers. People, including a large number of students, began arriving at Mahal Road early in the morning to secure vantage points for the historic occasion. To facilitate the event, special traffic diversions and enhanced security arrangements have been implemented across Jaipur.
