The National Legal Services Authority has issued a vacancy circular inviting applications from eligible government officers to fill 13 posts across legal, administrative, accounts and technical categories on a deputation basis.
The posts are open to serving officers of the Central Government, State Governments, Union Territories, autonomous bodies and statutory authorities. Fresh applicants, retired officials and private sector candidates are not eligible.

The vacancies include:
- Under Secretary – 1 post
- Assistant Legal Aid Advisor – 1 post
- Deputy Controller of Accounts – 1 post
- Superintendent (Legal) – 1 post
- Superintendent (IT) – 1 post
- Assistant Accounts Officer – 1 post
- Assistant Section Officer – 1 post
- Assistant (Legal) – 2 posts
- Senior Secretariat Assistant – 2 posts
- Stenographer Grade ‘D’ – 1 post
- Assistant Librarian – 1 post
Pay Levels
Senior-level posts such as Under Secretary, Assistant Legal Aid Advisor and Deputy Controller of Accounts are placed in Level 11 of the 7th Central Pay Commission pay matrix (₹67,700 to ₹2,08,700).
Mid-level positions including Superintendent (Legal), Superintendent (IT) and Assistant Accounts Officer fall under Level 8 (₹47,600 to ₹1,51,100).
Entry-level posts such as Senior Secretariat Assistant and Stenographer Grade ‘D’ are in Level 4 (₹25,500 to ₹81,100).
Pay and allowances will be governed by the 7th CPC rates as notified by the Central Government from time to time.
Eligibility Conditions
Applicants must be holding analogous posts on a regular basis or have the prescribed years of service in the feeder grade as per the recruitment rules.
Educational qualifications vary depending on the post:
- Legal posts require a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law along with relevant professional experience.
- The Superintendent (IT) post requires a technical degree with experience in information technology or cyber security.
- The Assistant Librarian post requires a degree in Library Science and at least two years of professional experience in a library.
The upper age limit for deputation is 56 years as on the closing date for posts at Serial Nos. 4 to 11. The deputation period will ordinarily not exceed three years, subject to extension based on performance and government norms. Superannuation will be governed by Government of India rules.

Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format (Annexure-A) and forwarded through the parent cadre department. The application should include:
- Attested copies of Annual Confidential Reports for the last five years
- Vigilance Clearance Certificate
