The National Biodiversity Authority has disbursed more than ₹45 lakh as benefit-sharing payouts through State Biodiversity Boards and Union Territory Biodiversity Councils. The funds will reach over ninety Biodiversity Management Committees spread across ten states and two union territories, including Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, the National Capital Territory of Delhi, and the Union Territory of Ladakh. These committees reflect a wide mix of ecological and institutional contexts, ranging from rural villages and urban local bodies to mangrove regions and areas near industrial hubs.
