Bemetara, January 18, 2026 : Under the guidance of the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Mrs. Sarojanand Das, a one-day workshop on road safety (safe driving and safe travel) and the e-challan system was organized in Bemetara. The programme was conducted in the presence of Mr. Mohammad Jahangir Tigala, Third Civil Judge Senior Division, Bemetara; Mrs. Anita Koshima Rawate, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Bemetara; Ms. Shruti Sahu, First Civil Judge Junior Division, Bemetara; Ms. Sarvika Chaturvedi, Second Civil Judge Junior Division, Bemetara; and Mr. Tushar Barik, Additional Judge, First Civil Judge Junior Division, Bemetara.
Through this workshop, participants were sensitized on issues related to e-summons, e-evidence, e-challan, and road safety. Emphasis was laid on the serious and adverse consequences of non-compliance with safety measures prescribed under the Motor Vehicles Act and the rules framed thereunder. The District Legal Services Authority was also encouraged to coordinate and extend support for awareness programmes to be conducted in schools and gram panchayats.
During the workshop, Mr. Mohammad Jahangir Tigala provided detailed information to all court staff and CCTNS staff from police stations regarding e-summons and e-challan. He explained that the judiciary is moving towards a paperless system and, accordingly, one HJS court and one LJS court in the Bemetara District Court have been identified for complete paperless functioning. In these courts, all work will be conducted digitally, and only e-challans will be accepted from police stations. Court staff were informed about the procedures to be followed after receipt of e-challans, along with guidance on e-summons, e-service, and e-evidence.
Issues faced by CCTNS staff in relation to e-challan, e-summons, and e-evidence were also discussed. These concerns were placed before Mr. Harish Yadav, Additional Superintendent of Police, Bemetara, with a request to raise them at the departmental level with senior officers for effective resolution.
The workshop witnessed the participation of court staff and CCTNS staff from all police stations of the district.
