Law Notify : President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday paid tribute to freedom fighter Veer Surendra Sai on his birth anniversary, recalling his role in resisting British rule during the 1857 uprising.
In a message shared on social media, the President said Veer Surendra Sai displayed exceptional courage and bravery by sustaining the great revolt of 1857 for several days. She noted that his unwavering resolve and sacrifice stood as a symbol of resistance against colonial oppression.
President Murmu added that the sacrifice and martyrdom of Veer Surendra Sai would always be remembered by the people of the country and continue to inspire future generations.
