President Droupadi Murmu Revokes President’s Rule in Manipur

President Droupadi Murmu has revoked President’s Rule in Manipur with effect from today. The decision brings to an end the central rule that was imposed in the state on February 13 last year.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a gazette notification confirming the move. According to the notification, the President has withdrawn the proclamation issued under Article 356 of the Constitution in relation to Manipur, restoring normal constitutional governance in the state.
