President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan on Wednesday paid tribute to Swami Dayanand Saraswati on his birth anniversary, remembering his enduring contribution to Indian society and education.
In a message shared on social media, the President said Swami Dayanand Saraswati offered invaluable guidance not only to society at large but also to the country’s education system. She noted that the spiritual and educational institutions founded by him have benefited the nation for generations and will continue to do so in the future.
The Vice President described Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati as a reformer who dedicated his life to fighting superstition, social evils and empty rituals. He said the reformer’s work in promoting education, empowering women and preserving Indian culture gave the country a renewed sense of direction and self-respect.
Mr. Radhakrishnan added that Swami Dayanand’s vision of a classless, caste-free and egalitarian society, along with his emphasis on moral values, remains a source of inspiration even today.
