Raipur Bar Association Elections 2026: Presidential Race Heats Up as Candidates File Nominations

April 2, 2026 : The much-awaited elections of the Raipur Bar Association have gathered momentum, with heightened activity across the court परिसर. On Thursday, two प्रमुख candidates, Hori Lal Chandrakar and Kamlesh Pandey, filed their nominations for the post of President, formally kicking off their election campaigns.

Soon after filing his nomination, Hori Lal Chandrakar launched an active outreach campaign among advocates. He conducted a table-to-table interaction drive within the court premises, personally meeting lawyers and seeking their support. Known for his approachable and amicable demeanor, Chandrakar appears to be gaining traction among both young and senior members of the bar. With over 25 years of legal practice, he is contesting the Bar Association elections for the first time, and his entry as a fresh face has drawn encouraging support.

On the other hand, Kamlesh Pandey is no stranger to Bar Association politics. A seasoned participant, he has previously held office and maintains a strong presence within the association’s electoral landscape.

The court परिसर also witnessed significant activity due to celebrations marking Hanuman Jayanti. A community feast (bhandara) was organized by advocates, drawing large participation from lawyers and visitors alike. Amid the festivities, election discussions remained a dominant theme, reflecting the growing intensity of the electoral atmosphere.

This year, elections will be held for 18 posts within the Raipur Bar Association. Voting is scheduled for April 17. While two candidates have officially filed nominations for the President’s post so far, more than half a dozen advocates have already purchased nomination forms, indicating the likelihood of a more competitive contest in the coming days.

Several prominent and experienced advocates are expected to enter the fray, including Kamlesh Pandey, Ashish Soni, and Dinesh Dewangan, all of whom have previously held positions within the association.

With nominations underway and campaigns picking up pace, the Raipur Bar Association Elections 2026 are set to witness intensified political activity in the days ahead.
