Law Notify : On the occasion of Republic Day 2026, a total of 982 personnel from the Police, Fire Services, Home Guards, Civil Defence, and Correctional Services have been conferred Gallantry and Service Medals in recognition of their exemplary contributions.

Among them, 125 personnel have received the Medal for Gallantry for rare and conspicuous acts of bravery, including saving lives and property, preventing crime, and apprehending criminals.

In addition, 101 personnel have been awarded the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service for an exceptional and sustained record of service. A further 756 personnel have been honoured with the Medal for Meritorious Service for valuable service marked by dedication, initiative, and devotion to duty.
