Rs.213.9 crore Fifteenth Finance Commission grant released for rural bodies in Assam

January 20, 2026 : The Union Government has released ₹213.9 crore to Assam as Fifteenth Finance Commission United Grants for Rural Local Bodies for the financial year 2025–26. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj said this amount represents the first instalment for the current year. The funds have been disbursed to all 2,192 eligible Gram Panchayats, 182 eligible Block Panchayats, and 27 eligible Zilla Parishads across Assam.
