    State-Level Committee Reviews and Approves PMRKVY Annual Action Plans for 2025–26 and 2026–27

    A meeting of the State-Level Sanctioning Committee constituted to approve proposals under the Prime Minister’s Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PMRKVY) was held today at Mahanadi Bhavan, Mantralaya, under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shri Vikasheel.

    During the meeting, the committee carried out a detailed review of the physical and financial progress of the annual action plan for central schemes for the year 2025–26. It also held in-depth discussions on the proposed annual action plan for the year 2026–27 for the implementation of central schemes in Chhattisgarh under PMRKVY.

    Deliberations focused on increasing the annual growth rate of the agriculture sector, enhancing farmers’ income, and promoting organic farming and soil health. Proposals under various schemes were approved during the meeting.

    The Chief Secretary emphasized that the proposed annual action plan should be aligned with soil conditions, suitable crops, and the specific needs of farmers to ensure a sustained increase in farm income. He called for encouraging farmers to adopt high-quality crop varieties through field demonstrations and awareness programmes. He also directed officials to organize camps to disseminate information on improved crops, quality seeds, and modern agricultural technologies.

    Stressing the importance of pulses and oilseeds, the Chief Secretary said farmers should be assured of tangible benefits from cultivating improved varieties, including assured procurement at remunerative prices. He further instructed that a cluster-based action plan be prepared to ensure the availability of quality seeds to farmers across the state. Officials were also directed to consult farmers during crop survey and assessment activities.

    Officials presented detailed information on schemes covered under the Agriculture Development Plan, including agricultural extension, crop diversification, National Bamboo Mission, Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana, soil health and fertility management, rainfed area development, Natural Farming Mission, Makhana Development Scheme, National Honey Mission, Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture, National Oilseeds and Oil Palm Mission, coarse cereals such as maize and ragi, National Food Security and Nutrition Mission, and the Atmanirbhar Pulses Mission. Proposals to include these schemes in the PMRKVY annual action plan for 2026–27 were approved by the committee.

    The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Biotechnology, Smt. Shahla Nigar; Finance Secretary Shri Mukesh Kumar Bansal; and senior officials from the State Agricultural Marketing Board, State Seed Certification Agency, Mahatma Gandhi University of Horticulture and Forestry, State Seeds and Agricultural Development Corporation, State Institute of Agricultural Management and Extension Training, and Indira Gandhi Agricultural University.
