Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam chief and actor Vijay arrived at the headquarters of the Central Bureau of Investigation in New Delhi on Monday in connection with the investigation into the Karur stampede tragedy.
The stampede, which took place in September last year, occurred during a large public gathering organised by the TVK to welcome Vijay after the launch of his political party. The incident led to the deaths of 41 people and triggered widespread outrage, prompting the transfer of the probe to the CBI.
Investigators are examining the planning, crowd control measures, and administrative approvals related to the event, as well as the sequence of events that led to the deadly rush.
