April 4, 2026 : A coordination meeting covering the Under Trial Review Committee, monitoring cell, hit-and-run cases, and preparations for the upcoming National Lok Adalat was held at Nyas Sadan in the district headquarters.
The meeting was chaired by Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Khilawan Ram Rigri. Key officials in attendance included Collector Nupur Rashi Panna, Superintendent of Police Pankaj Chandra, Additional District and Sessions Judge Vikram Pratap Chandra, Chief Judicial Magistrate Reshma Bairagi Patel, DLSA Secretary Gayatri Sai, and Additional Collector Charlie Thakur, along with other departmental officers.
During the meeting, detailed review of cases involving undertrial prisoners was conducted, particularly those who have been in custody for extended periods or those granted bail but unable to fulfill bail conditions. Authorities were directed to ensure necessary legal action in eligible cases in accordance with law.
In view of the National Lok Adalat scheduled for May 9, 2026, departments were instructed to identify and present a larger number of revenue-related cases for disposal. The police department was also directed to place traffic challan cases before the Lok Adalat to facilitate speedy resolution.
Progress of the new District and Sessions Court building was also reviewed, along with discussions on residential facilities being constructed for judicial officers and staff.
The meeting further addressed compensation procedures in hit-and-run cases involving unidentified vehicles. Officials were instructed to prepare necessary documentation and submit cases before the SDM for timely processing.
Emphasis was laid on strengthening inter-departmental coordination to ensure time-bound implementation of all tasks.
