March 17, 2026 : The Uttarakhand government has put in place extensive healthcare arrangements for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra, aiming to ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims throughout the journey. A key initiative this year is the ‘e-Swasthya Dham’ portal, which will enable real-time health monitoring of devotees, allowing authorities to provide immediate medical assistance when required.

To support this effort, experienced doctors and paramedical personnel will be stationed at both permanent and temporary medical units along the pilgrimage routes, key halt points, and at all four Dhams. Emergency preparedness has been significantly enhanced with the deployment of 177 ambulances, including 108 emergency service vehicles, advanced life support units, and specialized cardiac ambulances.

In addition to road-based services, a boat ambulance will be available in Tehri, while a helicopter ambulance, operated through AIIMS Rishikesh, will provide rapid response in critical situations. Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat emphasized that minimizing ambulance response time remains a top priority to ensure timely medical care for pilgrims.

The government has also established 25 medical relief posts and 33 health screening centers along the Yatra routes. These facilities will conduct regular health check-ups and offer immediate treatment when necessary.

To maintain consistent healthcare services, specialist doctors, medical officers, and paramedical staff will be deployed on a rotational basis. The plan includes 16 specialist doctors, 46 medical officers, and 85 paramedical personnel working on a 15-day roster. Additionally, 100 trained health volunteers will assist along the pilgrimage routes to further strengthen the support system.
