January 20, 2026 : The Cooperative Election Authority on Tuesday held a meeting with representatives of multi-state cooperative societies of railway employees to discuss compliance with the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2023.
The Ministry of Cooperation said the discussions focused on aligning society by-laws with the new law, forming representative general bodies, and electing delegates. The meeting also underlined the need to submit proposals for conducting elections at least six months before the current board’s tenure ends.
