Dantewada, February 13, 2026 : The district administration has imposed a complete ban on the use of loudspeakers and other sound amplification devices across Dantewada district from February 13 to May 15, 2026, in view of the upcoming school and college annual examinations.
According to an official release issued by the District Office, the annual examinations for schools and colleges in the district are scheduled to commence from February 20, 2026. To ensure that students can prepare and appear for their exams without disturbance, District Magistrate Devesh Kumar Dhruv has exercised powers under Section 5(2) and 10(2) of the Chhattisgarh Kolahal Niyantran Adhiniyam, 1985, read with Section 133 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Under the order, all forms of noise as defined under Sections 2(a), 2(b), and 2(c) of the Act, including the use of loudspeakers and sound amplification systems, are prohibited round the clock throughout the district. The ban will remain in force until May 15, 2026, except on occasions specified under Section 13(1) of the Act.
Violation of the order will attract penalties under Section 15 of the Chhattisgarh Kolahal Niyantran Adhiniyam, 1985.
Additionally, exercising powers under Section 2(d) of the Act, the District Magistrate has authorized the Sub-Divisional Magistrates of Dantewada, Geedam, and Bade Bacheli to grant limited permission for the use of sound systems on appropriate occasions for a specified duration within their respective jurisdictions, as provided under Section 7 of the Act.
