February 26, 2026 : Governor Shri Ramen Deka paid floral tribute to renowned freedom fighter, thinker, and revolutionary Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, popularly known as “Veer Savarkar,” on his death anniversary.

Remembering his contribution to nation-building, the Governor said that Veer Savarkar was one of the distinguished sons of Mother India whose intellectual brilliance, revolutionary zeal, and unwavering commitment to the nation’s future remain unmatched. He noted that Savarkar was far more than a courageous revolutionary. He was a profound thinker and writer whose ideological contributions played a significant role in shaping India’s freedom movement and national consciousness.

On the occasion, the Governor’s Legal Advisor Shri Bhishma Prasad Pandey, Deputy Secretary Ms. Nidhi Sahu, along with officers and staff members, also offered floral tributes before Savarkar’s portrait.
