  • Dantewada National Lok Adalat Disposes 4,728 Cases, Awards Over ₹4.10 Crore

    March 16, 2026 : A total of 4,728 cases were successfully resolved during the National Lok Adalat held at the District Court Dantewada. Awards amounting to ₹4,10,52,768 were passed in these cases.

    Under the guidance of Principal District and Sessions Judge Santosh Kumar Aditya, a total of 10 benches were constituted, covering courts across Dantewada, Sukma, Bijapur, and Bacheli revenue districts. Benches were also formed in the revenue courts to facilitate the disposal of cases.

    Out of 4,810 pending regular cases placed before the Lok Adalat, 4,728 cases were settled. The proceedings were conducted through both virtual and physical modes to ensure wider accessibility and efficiency.

    Several judicial officers presided over the benches in Dantewada, including Family Court Judge Harish Kumar Awasthi, First District and Additional Sessions Judge Mohan Prasad Gupta, Special Judge (Naxal Cases) Sunil Kumar Jaiswal, Second District and Additional Sessions Judge D.P. Singh Dangi, Chief Judicial Magistrate and Senior Civil Judge Apoorva Dangi, and Judicial Magistrate First Class Harshvardhan Jaiswal.

    In addition, benches were constituted in other regions: Chief Judicial Magistrate Rozmeen Khakha in Bijapur, Chief Judicial Magistrate Ramesh Chauhan in Sukma, and Judicial Magistrate First Class Shweta Thakur in Bacheli.

    Cases from various institutions were also taken up, including State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, BSNL, Shriram Finance, Cholamandalam Finance, Nagar Panchayat Barsur, the Electricity Department, Women and Child Development Department, and the Health Department.

    During the event, the Principal District Judge distributed saplings to litigants, promoting environmental awareness and encouraging people to plant more trees.
