NLUJA Assam Announces Faculty Recruitment 2026: Key Guidelines and Application Details Released

GUWAHATI – The National Law University and Judicial Academy (NLUJA), Assam, has officially released the general instructions and guidelines for its 2026 faculty recruitment drive. The university is seeking qualified academic professionals for various positions, including Professor and Associate Professor, with applications accepted until April 30, 2026.

Eligibility and Qualifications

Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications and standards prescribed by the UGC Regulations 2018 and subsequent amendments. For senior positions such as Professor and Associate Professor, candidates must provide evidence of possessing the required Academic Performance Indicator (API) scores. Notably, time spent acquiring M.Phil. or Ph.D. degrees will not be counted as research experience.

Application Process and Fees

Candidates are required to apply online through the University’s official website. The application fee is set at:

  • ₹2,500 for General category candidates.
  • ₹1,500 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.

Applications must be supported by attested copies of all academic certificates, teaching/research experience evidence, and reprints of published articles. Additionally, applicants must submit three reference letters from recognized domain experts. Those currently serving in government or semi-government organizations must apply through the proper channel with a “No Objection Certificate” (NOC).

Important Terms and Selection Process

  • Deadline: The final date for online submission is April 30, 2026.
  • Screening: If a large number of applications are received, the University may restrict the number of candidates called for interview based on higher qualifications or experience.
  • Interviews: While original documents must be produced at the time of the interview, the University may consider Skype interviews for candidates applying from abroad or under the PwD category.
  • No TA/DA: No travel or daily allowance will be provided to candidates appearing for written tests or interviews.

The University has emphasized that incomplete applications or those without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected. Candidates are advised to submit their forms well in advance to avoid last-minute technical issues.
