National Lok Adalat to Be Held in Jashpur District on May 9, 2026

May 2, 2026 : Acting on the directions of the National Legal Services Authority and the Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority, a National Lok Adalat will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, across district and taluka levels in Jashpur district.

The main proceedings will be conducted at the District and Sessions Court Jashpur under the chairmanship of Satyendra Kumar Sahu, Principal District Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Jashpur.

In preparation for the upcoming Lok Adalat, a coordination meeting was convened on April 24 in the video conferencing hall of the district court. The meeting was conducted in both physical and virtual modes and saw participation from judicial officers of the district judiciary and subordinate courts, including Additional District Judges, the Chief Judicial Magistrate, and Judicial Magistrates from various talukas such as Kunkuri, Bagicha, and Pathalgaon.

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on identifying cases suitable for settlement through mutual compromise. It was decided that revenue courts will take up matters relating to land acquisition, demarcation, mutation, partition, and other revenue disputes for disposal during the Lok Adalat.

Further, cases including motor accident claims, compoundable criminal matters, bank recovery disputes, municipal dues, telecom recovery cases, and other pending matters before courts that are fit for amicable settlement will be taken up for resolution.

Litigants willing to resolve their pending disputes through settlement have been advised to approach the concerned courts and request listing of their matters before the National Lok Adalat. For additional information, parties may contact the District Legal Services Authority, Jashpur, or the respective Taluka Legal Services Committees at Kunkuri, Bagicha, and Pathalgaon.
