May 15, 2026 : In a major step towards strengthening judicial infrastructure in Chhattisgarh, the High Court of Chhattisgarh on Friday conducted the Virtual Bhoomi Poojan and Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for the construction of a new Family Court building at Manendragarh and residential quarters for judicial employees at Janakpur.
The ceremony was virtually performed by Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, from Bilaspur. The initiative is aimed at improving court infrastructure and enhancing welfare facilities for judicial officers and court employees across the State.
Addressing the gathering during the virtual programme, the Chief Justice stressed the importance of developing modern and efficient judicial infrastructure to ensure the smooth functioning of the justice delivery system. He highlighted that well-equipped court complexes and quality residential facilities for judicial staff play a crucial role in improving administrative efficiency, accessibility, and overall working conditions within the judiciary.
Justice Sinha further observed that such projects reflect the High Court’s continued commitment towards infrastructural development and the welfare of judicial officers and employees in Chhattisgarh.
The programme was also attended virtually by Justice Parth Prateem Sahu, Judge of the High Court of Chhattisgarh and Portfolio Judge for Korea district (Baikunthpur).
Several dignitaries, including Registry Officers of the High Court, district administration officials, judicial officers, members of the Bar, court staff and local authorities, were present during the ceremony held at Civil Court premises in Manendragarh and Janakpur.
The event began with a welcome address by Shri Yogesh Pareek, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Korea (Baikunthpur). A detailed video presentation showcasing the proposed Family Court building at Manendragarh and the residential quarters project at Janakpur was also screened during the programme.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Rajendra Verma, Judge, Family Court, Manendragarh, who expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Judges, officials and all stakeholders for their support and cooperation in successfully organising the programme.
The foundation stone laying ceremony marks another significant milestone in the ongoing efforts of the High Court of Chhattisgarh to modernise judicial infrastructure and strengthen welfare measures for judicial officers and employees throughout the State.
